They must be talking to them both. Will just have to keep our fingers crossed (which makes it hard to type fast) and hope for the best. LOL.

Well, I just hope Cheryl gets it over her. It says she has played Roxie before.

Here is another article from OKmag....Here is a quote from a Broadway spokesperson
....
Broadway spokesperson Jeremy Shaffer said he could not confirm Ash's return to the stage, but did confirm that Dancing With the Stars' celeb Cheryl |

I wonder how this rumor got started? Unless she was trying out for a different role. (or maybe she did try out for Roxie and it just didn't happen.) That
is why Cheryl was trying to keep it quiet just in case this sort of thing happened.

I hope whoever does this "selecting" process regrets the decision.
I don't understand for the life of me why Cheryl would not get this. Especially when you think about who played it before: Samantha Harris. If they let Samantha play her then why not Cheryl? Samantha isn't as good a dancer. And what about the singing and acting? What I'm trying to figure out is how Samantha even played that role. She has a hard time even delivering short lines on DWTS. |

Sheri23 wrote:I know, I agree. Also Lisa Rinna did it too. I would think Cheryl would make a much better Roxie than Ashee. (She just got fired from Melrose Place) At least Cheryl can dance. Hopefully this rumor isn't true. Wonder why this is the first time we heard about Ashlee? The article says she moved to NY, but they also say she isn't a shoe-in either. hmmmm. |

I just can't see anyone dishing out money to see Ashlee Simpson. Now for Cheryl, absolutely. Weird.
It's time ...

Well, Keep your head up high Cheryl!this is just her first audition made and that's how it goes...she need to keep trying and trying...even Julianne, Derek,Edyta, and the other pros have had so many failed auditions before..Even the A listers do..I just hate how they made a big deal about her audition about this and some of them made it sound that she was a shoe in for the role.. We don't know exactly what's going on behind..There are so many qualifications need to be considered for this..We never really heard any of Liza, Sam, or Cheryl sing, and so it's hard to judge. There's always something else bigger and better. |

True Belski, this was her first try. She is young, lots of opportunities ahead of her. Too bad the media had to go blabbing about it until they knew for sure.
Oh well, better luck next time Cheryl. Who knows, maybe someone else will snatch her up for something even better.

I hope she got other things to do for the off season..If things aren't that busy though, maybe she can also take some acting lessons during her
downtime..So she can also go for something big in the future, maybe a tv role or in a movie..It doesn't have to be just on broadway. She's a great
performer on stage, but she's very shy on all other things..Do it now while the show is still up and running and giving them the exposures to be a hot
commodity.
It's tough cause Chicago is really more of singing and acting..I think dancing is only a secondary act (never seen the play yet, so i'm not really sure)..And Cheryl isn't really trained to act when she's not dancing.. We also need to wait for all the actual details about what really happened..Maybe it was Cheryl herself who backed down from this..After watching the play, it's probably something she is not expecting to do or she thinks she is capable to do..There could be so many reasons for why it might not or have not worked out for her.

I know what I said sounds good, except that I feel so bad for Cheryl knowing that she really wanted this (I think?) ....But she is a tough cookie.
If its true that there is lots of singing, then maybe its a good thing, it will
give her more time to get prepared if she is really interested in doing this sort of thing.
Originally, when she was dropping hints, I thought she was talking about "Burn The Floor" which would have been nice too. But Maks and Kym will be doing that. Oh well, good luck to her. |

Yeah! Maybe after seeing the play, she changed her mind about doing it. That will give her more time to spend with her freinds and family out west. Maybe she
will take more acting classes and get ready for just the perfect role and project to do outside of dancing. Well if they dont want her, then we will all take
her just the way she is.

A write up about Ashlee and a video of her opening night in London as Roxie Hart. Not a very nice write up, but it was interesting to see what the show was
about and to get a peek of what it entails to play Roxie......
