I knew it: she's writing a book. I was hoping she would because I'd love to read it.
Great interview. |

It was a great interview, however, I'm really confuse with some of her statements there. In her interview for Self Magazine, she did mention that she's
going to the gym a lot and been working out there from5-6 days a week. Now she's saying that she doesn't like doing that and she would rather do dancing
as a form of exercise and she's really more into tennis for an extra workout if not dancing. She's giving some mix messages..She don't really have
any diet that she follows and just eating clean, but i got her diet calendar/plan that went with her DVD workout, how did she come up with that?Sorry I'm
just confuse..Not a lot of people can do dancing as a form of exercise, just like me, i love dancing but not very good at it..I'm so ucoordinated that
i'm really having a tough time following..I much prefer going to the gym and get in shape there.I was really inspired hearing from her that she's been
going to the gym lately and determined more than ever for the off season to look good and feel good..I've been working extra hard after hearing that from
her and i have lost about 10 pounds for 2 and a half weeks of training in the gym, together with Cheryl's diet calendar. It's great that she's
promoting dancing a lot, but hoping it doesn't really matter what form of exercise you do, it doesn't hurt to go to the gym and go dancing at the same
time.It really is all about encouraging people to get active in general and do the things that really suites you and more comfortable with. It's really all
about getting healthy and feeling good about yourself..Sorry, i'm just really confounded here..I'm one of those ardent fans of her and really look up
to her and i do what she says she does, now I'm confused.

belski74 wrote: I've heard her say before that she doesn't like going to the gym. I have to say I don't blame her because it can be pretty boring to do that unlike exercising in another way, like playing sports or dancing. Since dancing is her passion, she probably does prefer it more than anything else. That doesn't mean that she can't also go to the gym occasionally or work out in another way. She said Maxwell is a health nut and he goes to the gym all the time, and he has motivated her to do it too. It's something they can do together. As for her workout DVD calendar, I never did think she followed that all the time. That's something that goes with her DVD, so that other people can work out and hopefully lose weight if they need to. It's pretty much a guaranteed thing that if they work out and follow the diet, they can lose. Anyway, it's pretty clear to me Cheryl doesn't need to follow some weight loss plan. Whatever she is doing, it works for her because she looks great as always.

Sheri23 wrote:Oh definitely, she looks amazing...But she need to stick to what she proclaims she does in getting in shape...I buy some of those stuff and spending hundreds of dollars, because i wanna look like her..lol... But
on a serious note, you can't sell something and say one thing and yet do something else..She sell this diet calendar and then say you have none really, how
am i suppose to know if it really works? How is dancing really that effective, when she say two different things? Not too long ago, her BF is such a great
influence to her life and the reason she was so motivated to lose weight and get back in shape by being in a gym quite a lot with him. Then a week after,
she's saying different things..I understand that she's probably giving those statements in support of her studios and perhaps her endorsement. But, just
a reminder to be a little bit careful cause she don't want to contradict herself...Especially when she got products to sell..She needs to support what she
claims..I don't mean this in a negative way, but I hope Cheryl reads this...I lost quite a bit of weight and some of my coworkers been asking me how i did
it...I've been promoting her dvd exercise and her calendar to them and I'm just stunned to hear that she's saying something different..I wonder if
she even do some of the things she say...I'm not mad, I'm just confused..I love you Cheryl, if you read this, i hope you understand.

Saw the same conflicting comments that you did Belski. It seems that she only goes to the gym because Maxwell dose. She may not like to go but because he dose
she dose. Hope this dose not cause more controversy for her. Also hope she includes all of us in her inner circle of friends to keep her strong and if it helps
I will call her beautiful and gorgeous every day of the week.

Could the interview have been done earlier than her comments about going to the gym? I seem to recognize that theme from a lot of her earlier comments. Do we
really need to bisect every single word she makes in an interview? All of these interviews are edited and edited and re-edited and these people may have
talked to her months ago and just in passing. Some of this stuff is just 'stuff' because Cheryl is so popular right now and any article about her
will be read. What I gleaned from the article is that she is eating healthy and she is exercising. We know that these two things are true because we can
actually see them. The rest is just media 'stuff'.

steven44 wrote: This is also a little concerning because as you said, it might cause some controversy for her...She has been associating herself in health and fitness lately and about to become the spokesperson for one of the biggest and leading fitness company in the world...With opposing statements like that, she's going to compromise her credibility..I'm also hoping the latter interview was conducted a long time ago, because there are tons of blogs made for both of the interviews she made..So all i'm saying is to be a little more careful. |

I don't really see it as a big deal. She dances all year for the show. Now she has off for the summer and she is hitting the gym with her boyfriend. Its
probably alot harder getting any dancing done, so she is alternating different kinds of exercise that is good for her body. I bet when Dwts starts up, she
won't be going to the gym that much.
Remember what happened last year when she gained weight? It was because she wasn't dancing for the summer. So now she has found a way to keep in shape until dancing starts again. There is no reason why she can't do both.

moondaancer wrote:I understand that, i think the point is, one week she was asked how she stays in shape? She answered that she was so motivated and she's been hitting the gym a lot and determined to keep it going before a new season started again..Then the next week she was asked the same question and all of a sudden, she's saying the opposite and something totally different from what she just stated not too long ago..She made it sound that she hates going to the gym and if not dancing, she's been playing tennis to keep her in shape..That is so conflicting statement and it makes you wonder if she even really do any of those things she's saying?..A lot of blogs have been made about her how she works out and been going to the gym due to the interviews she gave to People Mag and SELF.Then all of a sudden another statement from her coming out that no, she don't actually do any of those things. As an endorser and spokesperson of health and fitness, she has to be a little careful with some of these things..When you say something, you have to stand by it to be an effective endorser..You don't preach it if you don't practice it..Otherwise, no credibility. And besides, she don't want her own words to be used against her by some of those bloggers...But i think Paegan is right, it sounds like it was an old interview that just came out now..Sounds pretty much the same interview she did quite a long time ago. That's exactly my point, why make it sound so conflicting?Totally no reason why she can't say she do both or all of the above?

I don't see any contradiction in her statements at all. As I recall, she's never liked going to a gym but goes now because of Maxwell. That doesn't
mean she has to like it. Liking and doing are two different things. And just because she'd rather play tennis doesn't mean she's stopped going to
the gym.
If this is such a big concern, why not a private email asking for clarification? That seems much better than publicly questioning her credibility. All in all, it seems much ado about nothing. |

My apology if i choose to discuss this in the general forum...I just thought this is not so sensitive to be talked about..I just chose to talk about it just
for casual discussion and also asking for what some of you thinks..I respect what some of you thought about it...More than anyone here i'm probably the one
really concerned about this, because it really does have impact on me..The moment i heard her that she is very commited and started going to the gym (something
i can definitely do), i did sign up as well, even if we have a mini gym at home, i still went ahead and hired for a personal trainer..I was so motivated,
probably the same way with how Maxwell have been motivating her.I also did purchase her diet calendar...My fault that i made a big deal out of this publicly,,
i'm sorry, it's just that i don't have access to her site at all and this is the only option i have for some clarification and the only way i could
talk to her..It was just a real downer for me after hearing some of it..I didn't mean to make it sound like questioning her credibility or she is not
practicing what she preach, i was just giving example with what i thought some conflicting statement as such can do,given with what is expected from her and
if those interviews are real and not made up and edited .

First Interview
"But in the off-season, she's just as dedicated--she told us she runs 3 1/2 miles a day, six days a week, and follows up with 40 minutes of strength training using her own body weight" "so we go to the gym about like five, six times a day," "I'm on the treadmill running a lot and we do lots of weight training."Second Interview "I'm really into tennis now. I would much rather do things like that than be in a gym all day." "Instead of going to the gym and buying a membership, buy a membership to a dance class and get your exercise that way - having fun and not even thinking about exercising." Approximately 1 week from her people interview..It just sound really conflicting to me..She was saying she's very motivated by
Maxwell and very dedicated and go to the gym for 5-6 days a week when not dancing, then days later she's more into tennis than being in a gym..Don't
seem to be making a lot of sense..Sorry i'm just making a point and my apology if i make too much out of it..I'm just really confuse with the message
she was trying to convey here..

^ I don't really see anything conflicting. Like I said before, she can dance or play sports as a form of exercise but at the same time go to the gym.
She's not going to say the exact same things in every interview and tell everything that she does to stay in shape in every single interview.
And klm is right, going to the gym and liking going to the gym are two different things. She's said before she's not a big fan of it, but that doesn't mean she won't ever do it. I don't particularly like to workout myself, but that doesn't mean I don't ever do it. Maxwell likes going to the gym, he has motivated her to do it, it's something she can do with him. So I say why not? She is still allowed to say she prefers dancing or a sport like tennis to stay in shape. It's the truth. When she has come out and said how she stays in shape, she credits all of these: eating right, dancing, going to the gym, playing sports. All she has done is give her main recommendation for others: that they learn to dance so they can have fun and get in shape without even realizing that's what they're doing. She says it all the time. So I just don't see where she is contradicting herself in any of her statements. She does practice what she preaches. |

Anyway before getting any further about this, hoping no one is getting upset...
Thanks for a healthy discussion.
I just thought it's not really a matter of liking or wanting to do it, but it is her word saying "she's very commited and motivated to do it".She don't have to say the same thing when she has interviews, but with her status as a celeb and an endorser, i think it's a given that everything that comes out to her mouth, are going to be noted, remembered, and implemented..Some people like myself, do look up to her and changing up your stance that fast in some parts, really is a little confusing..Her words do have the power to influence people and all i'm saying is just be a little careful, her words can also be used against her and there are tons of news and blogs out there saying how Cheryl is very dedicated to workout and go to the gym and yet saying otherwise, better than having membership when she got membership herself.

This is just really a little bigger deal for me, cause i do everything that she say.I pay money and this is costing me so much and i invest so much of my
time
..When she said that she is very committed and motivated to be at
the gym this summer, i was just as commited as what she said she was.And to hear her say that she don't really like doing it, and she would rather do
something else, I feel like i just lost my motivation She's the
reason i did it..Maybe she is still doing it, but anyway, just the way she said it.And someone who's investing so much on this, is it wrong wanting to know
a little more? I'm not trying to enforce anything or any of you to understand, i'm just searching for some answers and just trying to feel better.Like
i said i have no other access to her anymore, no emails or no access to her sites, so a lot of times, i speak my mind in this forum and try to talk it out
here..And thanks you guys for talking to me about this, I appreciate it..I'm not trying to get into any of your nerves, but it's nice talking to some
of you about this..Not trying to make Cheryl look bad either, cause that's something i will never do,just trying to point some things out.I love her to
death, i'm just confused and when i get confuse, i usually get hit with the stupid stick Sorry for speaking out my mind on this, and sorry if i misunderstand any of
this, and sorry Cheryl if i have taken your words out of context.I'll shut up now lol, this is my last ..Peace out!
